iMovie Streaming: Part 3 - QuickTime for the Web (5)

Saving the QuickTime Movie
Save movie box
Make sure you name your movie something simple (and more Web compatible).
Once you have chosen a format for your edited video, click the Export button. Find a place to put your movie on your hard drive and give it a name. iMovie starts out with "My Great Movie.mov" as the file name. Because it has spaces in it, that is a poor choice for putting it on the Web. Give your file a name that does not have spaces and has the ".mov" extension on the end. Then click the Save button.

iMovie will shrink the size of your edited video and save it to the location you specified. It has a lot of compacting work to do and that is all mathematically based so be patient. Depending on the length of your movie and the format you chose, it may take a while. With that done, you are almost ready to put your work on the Web.

Putting It Online
Where do you go from here? In the next article in this series, I will show you how to put your QuickTime movie online at your Web site. When you are done, you will be able to show the world your masterpiece!
