Review: mH2O.com (3) The mH2O.com Experience The site is arranged into eight major elements: Audio Graffiti. This is the "town hall" of the mH2O.com community, where members can exchange ideas with other members from around the world. Here, members can post their own samples and songs for review, and download each other's music. Members are able to remix or incorporate individual tracks into their own work, which they can then re-post. Audio Graffiti samples are listed and can be searched by artist and geographical location as well as instrument, musical genre, tempo and key. Virtual Studio. This is the "heart" of the mH2O.com site and holds the tools that empower members to create, share and record music. They can choose to download mH2O.com's digital sequencer and digital sound editor and can also purchase and access a full set of enhanced plug-in effects (reverb, echo and compression), comparable to those found in any professional recording studio. Community. To help facilitate on-line interaction, the "Community" area of the site allows users to access instant messaging, message boards and participate in chat sessions with mH2O.com's affiliated artists. Members can start their own online community that focuses on the topics and musical genres of their choosing. Members can also create and maintain their own home page that features the music they compose on mH2O.com, with additional room for JPEG files and a personal bio. Star Tracks. This virtual "battle of the bands" and on-line talent search enables members to participate in each genre for prizes and recognition. Each week reviewers from mH2O.com will choose and post songs from material submitted by members. Visitors to Star Tracks can then vote for their favorites in each genre. The winning songs will continue in Star Tracks to compete against new entries. Artists that win for four consecutive weeks will be invited to perform in Concerts/News/Events and, at the company's discretion; selected artists may also be offered a contract with mH2O.com's record label. Sample Source. The Sample Source contains an extensive library of regularly updated, pre-recorded samples and loops that can be searched by instrument, musical genre, tempo and key. The Sample Source also includes Celebrity Samples, which are created and endorsed by well-known artists who appear on the site. Members of mH2O.com receive five free samples a week. Musician Source.
